Despite starting today’s’ race way down the grid in 17th position, Team Pedercini Racing’s Yonny Hernandez managed to fight his way up to 12th position after twenty hard laps and score some valuable championship points.

Yonny Hernandez – 12th

“It’s never easy when you have to start a long way down the grid, but I made a reasonably good start and was up to twelfth by the end of lap one. The first half of the race was not too bad, but I could see that the gearing on my bike was too short compared to the other riders I was fighting with. So, that’s something that we will change for tomorrow’s race.

The last part of the race was very difficult for me. The hot conditions made the tyres spin a lot and the front tyre was closing in. I kept going and it was good to get some championship points. I think we have a good chance to improve further tomorrow. I need a good start and, if I can get that and pass some riders early on, I think I can get a good result.”

Lucio Pedercini (Team Manager)

“This morning we improved a lot from yesterday and then we improved some more in Superpole – and the race was not so bad either. During the race we found some small problems with the gearing, so we will sort that out in tomorrow morning’s warm-up. Hopefully that will help Yonny to fight with the other riders and have a better race.”
